New Administrative Building of the Tallinn City Government – 2-stage Design Contest with Pre-qualifi

There was held the final ceremony of the competition of the two-stage design competition with pre-qualification for the New Administrative Building of the Tallinn City Government today, in 19th June in Tallinn City Hall.

 

The winners are:
  • I Prize (500 000 + 150 000 EEK) - Bjarke Ingels Group ApS from Denmark, (Bjarke Ingels ja Jakob Lange)
  • II Prize (300 000 + 150 000 EEK) - Alver Arhitektid OÜ (Andres Alver, Ulla Saar, Tarmo Laht, Indrek Rünkla, Sven Koppel)
  • III Prize (200 000 + 150 000 EEK) -  Kolm Pluss Üks OÜ (Andres Ojari, Ilmar Valdur, Markus Kaasik, Raul Kalvo, Pirko Võmma, Tanel Tatsi)

 Honorary Prizes a 150 000 EEK went to -

All queries shall be submitted in Estonian or English to info@arhliit.ee by 20 December 2008 at the latest. The answers can be found on the same page in the file listing.

 

Competition submission guidelines and competition brief can be found below, among the competition files.

 

The qualification documents must be delivered personally or submitted at the responsibility of the Participant by mail or express mail to the Union of Estonian Architects, Lai tn. 31, 10133 Tallinn.

 

The qualified participants will submit a design solution by the end of January 2009 and the international jury will choose from among them up to 10 best participants who will proceed to the second stage. The deadline for submitting the works for the second stage is May 15, 2009. The winner will be announced before the Midsummer Day of 2009. The conditions for qualification are available below to this text.

The new building of the city government with an area of 35 000 m2 is planned to be constructed to the plot at Põhja puiestee 33.
