International architectural competition of Estonian Academy of Arts, Tallinn

Estonian Academy of Arts announced international public, anonymous and one-stage design competition of its new faculty building on 18th of October!

 

Main organizer of the competition is Estonian Academy of Arts in cooperation with the Union of Estonian Architects.

 

The purpose of the design competition is to find contemporary solution of outstanding architecture for the Estonian Academy of Arts. The new faculty building will become an active centre for education and arts in Tallinn as well as an buoyant urban node.

The competition area is situated in absolute centre of Estonian capital Tallinn and in the centre of the new business district.

Spatial programme is totally 26738 m2.

Deadline of submissions is 28th of February, 2008.

The international jury will make its decision for 8th of April:

  • Mrs Signe Kivi, prof., rector of Estonian Academy of Arts
  • Mr Indrek Allmann, vice president of the Union of Estonian Architects and architect
  • Mr Veljo Kaasik, prof.em of the Estonian Academy of Arts and architect
  • Mr Mart Kalm, prof.,Dean of the department of art culture of Estonian Academy of Arts
  • Mr Ülar Mark, the president of the Union of Estonian Architects and architect
  • Mr Endrik Mänd, Chief Architect of Tallinn Town Government
  • Mr Roger Riewe, architect (Riegler Riewe Architects Pty. Ltd., Austria),
  • Mr Jüri Soolep, prof.,Dean of the department of architecture of Estonian Academy of Arts and architect
  • Mr David Zahle, architect (Bjarke Ingels Group, Denmark)

About Estonian Academy of Arts

The forerunner of the present-day Estonian Academy of Arts was the Tallinn Applied Art School of the Estonian Society of Art, founded in 1914. 

Presently, Estonian Academy of Arts (EAA) is the only institution in Estonia offering education at university level in the fields of art and design.
